Weather you live to be 100 years, 10 years, or come up with the cure for cancer, your life is meaningless. In 100 years no on will know your name or care. So really, what does it matter if we all die in 2012?
We are but a small meaningless blip of existence. A fog that appears for a short time then fades away.

@elli, we actually don't' really have that much of an impact on the Solar System. Sure, we put probes and stuff out into space but it really doesn't affect the Solar System at all. It's basically considering the effect of a few harmless microbes on your skin. Doesn't affect you do they?
