That too is true. But some of them were really weird and pretty specific, and they turned out to be true. I don't believe it's because he could predict the future, personally.

Then again, I could type a bunch of things in gibberish and in Old English and I'm sure in a couple hundred years, some of those things could be interpreted as coming true.

You found the problem, though. You DO type a bunch of things in gibberish.
My computer just has a sophisticated gibberish to English translation device in it.

About the 2012 thing, here is a post from PBS that describes it quite well. Taken from "Debate: 2012, our apocalyptic doom?", written by ♣Ty¢ho♣™:
For centuries, people of this world have sought to find when our world will end. Many people pointed to specific dates and times, but every time they were wrong... However this one specific year, and even date, have been marked as the time of the end of the world... and it is in our time. It is the year 2012, and an exact date would point to December 21, 2012. This would be the day of the solstice, and the sun would align with the Plane of the Milky Way. So how can we believe of such a day or year, and why is it so eerie about its accuracy? The ancient Mayans were obsessed with time and dates. Their calendar was able to predict an eclipse that would happen over thousands of years away. But strangely enough, their precious calendar ends on the exact date of December 21, 2012. The Mayans somehow knew that our sun would every so often land in the center of the galaxy, and from this the central galaxy would send of a spark of light, and the sun would shine more intensely producing what we call today as 'Solar Flares' and the Mayans believed this would cause a great displacement of the earths rotation, causing catastrophic events. One theory that ties into the Mayans belief of the disruption in earths rotation is Albert Einstein's theory of polar shift. If a polar shift was to happen, the Earth would rotate in an entirely different direction, causing disastrous events. This could only be caused by the magnetic fields of the sun, and this ties in to what i previously said about the Solar Flares. Scientists predict, and NASA has confirmed that a Solar Storm is going to take place soon, possibly in the year 2012. This is caused by the magnetic fields of the sun reversing instantaneously, sending a powerful shock wave of solar wind into the galaxy, in which would be able to reverse the earths magnetic fields. Thus these theories are tied together, and they all point to a disastrous effect. Another form of evidence is global warming. The Polar Ice Caps are melting at a seriously fast rate, and this is effecting our sea level which is rising more and more. If this keeps happening, places we once knew will vanish off the face of the earth. Florida, England, few places in Africa and many other places below sea level and above will be flooded by the ocean. The rising sea temperatures could be the cause of an increase of hurricanes. Clearly the Earth is under a drastic change, whether we can prevent it or not. But this isn't the only evidence of the end of our time. Drought, Famine, Disease, Terrorism, and rising Nuclear threats are at a peak. No one can say if this is part of civilization or if it is warning of the end of the world. The Bible and Koran, and even other religious and historical documents point out that near the end of time, these things will occur and will be at its peak. The rising Nuclear threats could signal the World War III, a war many Christians, Muslims and many people in general believe to be the one stated in the Bible and Koran to end the world. Some people who are not even Christian or Muslim or any other Religion which such a belief still believe in the end of time including these scenarios. The bible code is another instance of people trying to prove the end is near. Apparently some researches choose to look at the Bible at another angle, not as a book of religious writings, but as a book of codes and prophecies. They use the old testament of the bible, in most cases they use the Jewish text, and they use it as a matrix of codes, then count by a certain number, and you end up with an answer. I'm not sure how it truly works, and i personally am skeptical of such things, but something notable about it is it was able to give information of September 11, giving the name Osama and twin towers and other words that would describe September 11 on the same page. Another notable case is they found words like; comet, annihilation, 2012, and other similar words on the same page. Again I'm skeptical about this myself so that can be for you to decide. So here is the summary of supporting information - Nostradamus has spoked on a mysterious asteroid that would hit us in 2012, a case which ties into the prophecy of the bible code. It is possible it could be the solar object Eros, which orbits the earth, and in the year 2012 will come extremely close to our atmosphere. He also predicted events similar to those in the revelation that will come to pass.
- Oracles from ancient civilization who were highly respected for their almost always accurate predictions, such as the civil and Delphi, have spoken of doom in our time. Almost every prediction of our doom is similar to the scenarios we could experience such as the sea rising, cities burning, every corner of the earth being shaken by earth quakes, the sea turning red and other terrible events. Other figures who predict the end of our time is Merlin, Edgar Cayce, Nostradamus and other people, all of which have made other predictions that have come to be seemingly accurate.
- Christians, Muslims, and many other religions believe in the end of the world. Each having a similar description of our end.
Some facts that disprove the theory of the end of the world. - No one can truly predict when the world will end.
- Science cannot accurately prove 100% that these things can happen or are possible.
- Civilization has set forth many dates and years they believed would be the end, but every single time they were wrong...
Me personally, i have many big events coming up in the year 2012, and those are the events i look forward too, not the end of the world. To me, anything is possible, and if it does happen than it does, and i can't do anything about it. If it doesn't happen than it doesn't, and I'm perfectly fine with that. I made this article from many web resources and the reason i wrote it was because the History Channel has many documentaries on proof the end is near. Hope you liked the article, and please remember that nothing i wrote about is my actual belief, for i choose be passive on this debate. It's all for you to decide.[/quote]

omg wall of text. I skimmed it though. If it's true, which I seriously doubt, there's nothing we can do except for wait for our doom eh?

(The computer I'm on right now won't let me sign into any Proboards because it's stoopid =P )
I actually took the time to read that entire block of words. xD
I really hope that the world won't end in 2012... By then, I will have just been out of high school for about a year and six months. I would've just started college, too... I won't even have a family! D: My life will be bleak and meaningless from the day I was born...
Damn you catastrophies, asteroids, disasters, and global warming! DAMN YOU!

D: My life will be bleak and meaningless from the day I was born... Damn you catastrophies, asteroids, disasters, and global warming! DAMN YOU! If you drew a line a a mile long that represented all of the universe. And then you took the sharpest pencil and put a tick on that line representing humanity, it would still be giving humans much more credit then we deserve. Weather you live to be 100 years, 10 years, or come up with the cure for cancer, your life is meaningless. In 100 years no on will know your name or care. So really, what does it matter if we all die in 2012? We are but a small meaningless blip of existence. A fog that appears for a short time then fades away. Hopefully that will put things into perspective for you. /\

People wouldn't forget your name if you found the cure for cancer. =P Silly Blink.
Never teh less, humans obviously have some sort of impact on the solar system, at least. Look at all that crap we put into our own atmosphere and the probes and robots we've sent to other planets that have since run out of batteries and turned to nothing but scrap metal... Celestial garbage. =P
