Thread for people new to forums and design

Not sure is I missed this kind of thread, if there is one already please point me in the general direction.  ;D

Basically I am new to all of this and at times feel overwhelmed with all the information.

Maybe if we had a Thread/Topic that was helpful to increasing knowledge of design.

What are the best Design programs?
What is the best Program to use as a beginner?
Is one program better for a specific task than another?

PhotoShop or Paintshop Pro (just two examples)

What are the best Image Hosting sights?

Imageshack or Photobucket (just two examples)

Try stoping in the Designers' Lounge  board. That is a great place to discuss all about design.

There are a few sticky threads will alot of useful info in them. Give them a read and then browse what topics there are or feel free to create your own.

We have some Great designers here so they will be able to help you out

We currently don't have any threads for general info like that. But like Arucard said, just stop by the Designer's Lounge with all those questions and we'll answer them to the best of our ability for you.

Yea I found it and have learned a few things from it, thank you. Moldy Cheese pointed me in the right direction

Sorry, I missed it the first time. Not sure how I missed it.

I usually am watching T.V. , talking to the wife, and reading the forums/computerwork/gaming at the same time.  Sometimes I talk on the phone also

to add to this what about a General FAQ?

Have a post to directing to just general questions with links
2nd post for Designing questions and links to direct them and another post for coding.

so 1 thread 3 posts and still have all the link directing to the boards and some important and helpful links in that board.

Make that an announcment that way will help anyone who is new dont know where to go or misses any important links
