Well, Brendan said I should "ask Blink" about this, and I don't have him or feel like getting him on MSN at the moment, so it's a thread, everybody can discuss.
My idea is for betting on points. I'm sure somewhere there is a poker place where you can use play chips on a private table, maybe it'd be password restricted or something, and we can all play poker for points. Texas Hold 'Em, of course, since it's the one everybody knows how to play, and we'd have somebody who awards points and won't cheat in the table to supervise, I suppose.
Points would go like this:
Entering the tournament - 5 points
Winning (1st place) - everybody's points, points are deducted from those who join. So if 9 people join, they get 45 points (win 40, get their 5 back)
2nd Place - 15 points (win 10, get their 5 back)
3rd Place - 10 points
4th Place - Get their points back (5)
If nobody knows of a poker place with a private table, then I use fulltilt, and we can all enter a 45 or 90 player tournament, and keep track of everybody in it (which is easy to do). Then, the last person standing from wA (and 2nd last, 3rd last, and 4th last) get points.
I think this would be a really fun way to award points. I love playing poker and I'm sure there are at least a few people around here who love playing as well. This would be a weekly tournament, I suppose, and would be a great way to give points.
