Color Issue

Alright, so I've been having a color issue at my site.

In IE, the menu buttons are the same color as the background (except the lettering), and the color is D9D9D9. In FF, though, the menu buttons are a bit darker than the background and the menu buttons are D9D9D9 but the background color is DDDDDD.

The background looks exactly the same color in both IE and FF, so why are the menu buttons not matching the background in FF but not IE and why does the background seem to be DDDDDD in FF and D9D9D9 in IE?

Can anyone help with this? I'm confused.

And I'm not sure if this should be posted in the Design board, but it isn't exactly about design...

Inernet explorer changes some colors for reasons unknown to me. This is really noticably for .PNGs.

Just make sure to chose web friendly colors and all your problems will go away. And if you don't have any transparencies I would stick to .JPG files.

Yeah, .JPG or .GIF is the way to go. I found that out the hard way, also.

What are you using to make the buttons? Photoshop?

If it's Photoshop, then check the "Only Web Colors" box in the color picker option. Try choosing a color from there, I don't know if it will work, but just give it a shot.

Yea it's probably because of PNG.

If you look at wA in IE7, the head/base are much darker than viewed in FF.
