iTunes really doesn't update that often. Maybe once a month or two months. However apple is a great company, not like windows. They wont make up upgrade unless its necessary. Every upgrade is a good thing, so I welcome them. Because that means they are getting better soft wear for me, and I have no problem with that. Plus some of the upgrades are very neat, and useful if you use iTunes everyday as a media player. How ironic that someone with the name Intel is a mac Fanboy. If it worked before why fix it? Updates are annoying. My name has nothing to do with the preference of computers I like. I have a mac, and I have a quad-core pc. The name came from well it's a long story that has nothing to do with anything. I would suggest to you that you either: A:) Put it on automatic update, that way you have no idea when it updates B:) Stop using iTunes C:) Stop complaining. One of the three will work perfectly for you, lol.

I don't like iTunes on Windows too much either (it runs so much better on a Mac) and I think that Apple is a great company and all. It's just that the Windows version is just so clunky. If you really want you can just use another program. There's ones made especially for the iPod and some with iPod manager plugins. What I use on my main Windows computer is foobar2000 with the foo_dop component. It's never given me any problems at all, and foobar2000 is a great program. But in the end it's up to you.

I hate having to use iTunes as my media player since it's so clunky and all but I don't really have all that much of a choice, since I don't want to go around updating two music libraries. >_> I'd use Winamp if I could.

What do you guys mean by clunky and everything else?
I don't think I have ever had a problem with mine after I read about it and got to know all the hints & tips to using it. Once I got to know the program I love it very much.
I find it a lot more professional then WMP, and a lot better looking.
I also have over 15,000 songs, and 200 something videos.
So I know that's not the problem, lol.

I know how to use iTunes very well. That's not the problem. It's just not as advanced as other music players such as foobar2000. I hate how it stops input when a window is up or when it's determining gapless playback information. Sometime the song that I'm listening to will end and I can't do anything. When you have to do this a lot like I do it gets really annoying. With foobar, you drag the music in and it's there. Yes you can do that with iTunes but there's no delay, it doesn't have to add it to the library or anything. I could go on and on about how iTunes just doesn't cut it.
By the way I really dislike Winamp.

It's really a shame that Apple decided to handcuff the iPod to iTunes. There are plenty of just as good or better music players/downloaders out there.
Winamp is great btw.

Who said anything about that, lol? haha Well I find my self importing 3000 songs sometimes and yes, iTunes may not be built for that but I want a music application that can. I want all the advanced controls and broad format playback and encoding options of other more advanced players. Kahless did. I love the community that has come about due to Winamps custom visualizations, it's like an art form. Check it out on Deviant Art even. Anyways, besides that there's not a lot else that Winamp has going for it besides a large user base. It has a clunky interface that, while skinnable, still fails to be intuitive. It's a bit too cobbled together and it has sold out. If I had Winamp it would be for the visualizations.
