Why is it when someone gets shot in the leg, we hear nothing about it, but when a celebrity trips over a twig and catches herself on an oak tree, everyone has to know? Just figured i'd start this thread after I found a few articles on Jerry Seinfeld "narrowly escaping death." Click. Though this case is more understandable, you can see even in this article the completely irrelevant cue of "co-writer and co-producer of Bee Movie."

First off, why is this important enough to make it to busy sites when IN THE TITLE it says Unharmed after Car accident. Yes it may have been a car accident, and wow, its a celebrity, but there's other PEOPLE who die from car accidents every day. Shouldn't they be on country-wide newscasts too?

The news is a business. They make money of celebrities, so they focus on them. It's really that simple.

There may be other motives, but if the cha ching wasn't there, neither would the cameras.
