Me and a mate was discussing this earlier.. Technologically wise, are we (humans) currently too advanced for our own good? Are we getting more and more advanced too quickly? Where will we be in say, 10 years from now? We can already pause and rewind live tv, we have mobile phones and so so much more. What will be next? I mean, surely there must be a limit...
For example, for dvd's we already have discs and stuff that can hold a fair bit of gb. The next step for dvd's could/would probably be storing movies onto a little chip or something, somethign really tiyn anyway, whats after that? Download movies straight to your dvd player, which has a 2terabyte built-in hard drive? What could possibly be after that? D'ya see what I mean?

Theirs alot more.... We are very advanced and that is good but we dont know how or cant afford to use the current technology... I want to see a time machine or more space technology. Their should never be an end to technology... self driving car (they have already) but implement the technology....

We really can't judge that, to be honest... technology has its good points and bad, not everything is beyond us. Really, it's very hard to judge.

The only way I see advancement in technology to ever be bad is people becoming more lazy since more things will be handed to them.

Well, if you you look back a few decades, we are a way more advanced than they were. Personally, I think we're getting a bit crazy with technology though. Right now, were good, controlled, but later on, maybe in fifty years those future stereotypes with the satellites and robot stuff might acually become reality. We will be way to advanced and become way more lazy because of it.

I think this is a kind of silly thing to think about although I do agree with the assertion that we'll get lazy if we're not careful. Anyways if you look back on previous decades what they said about technology was about what you're saying now. They had no idea how it could get any more advanced. But technology just keeps going. When you look at it though the reason it's getting more advanced is because we're advancing.

In the next 20-50 years earth is going to have it's magnetic field switched.
When this happens it is possible that no computers, phones, tvs, or radios will work. It'd be like a restart.
People have always fancied all the technology of their time, but this will be nothing in say 100 years. So no, it's not too much.

I'm not gonna get involved in this one. Just thought i'd point this out to everyone: we're already lazy. :o

I dunno, like Virt said, it's hard to say. But I'll say that humanity will kill itself sooner or later. We already have the technology to easily do that.
