This tutorial will teach you how to create a basic signature using photoshop.
Step One
- Goto FILE, NEW, Document.
- Make sure the size is 300w-500w X 100h-150h (in pixels)
[for this tutorial I'm using 375w X 100h
Step Two
- press shift + d (this will set your colors back to default)
- take the paint bucket tool and click on the layer to fill it with black.
You should now have something that looks like this:
Step Three
- goto > filter > render > clouds.
- goto > filter > render > difference clouds.
- press ctrl+f to repeat the last thing you did a few times until you get something you like.
Now you should have something that is similar to this:
Step Four
- create a new layer
- select the brush tool and load a grunge brush set.
- brush the new layer till you have something you like.
- press ctrl + shift + e to merge all the layers to one layer.
Now you should have something that is similar to this:
Step Five
- open up a stock/render (mine)
- now go back to your signature and select image > adjustments > color ballance. You will want to change the midtones, highlights, and shadows to match the colors in your render. stock.
My Result:
Step Six
- Select your stock and copy and paste it into your signature.
- resize it so that it fits your sig.
You should have something like this now:
Step Seven
- ctrl + click on the render layer to select just the render.
- go to > select > modify > contract
- set it to 2 px
- go to > select > select inverse
- go to > select > feather
- set it to 2 px
- the press delete
- goto > image > adjustments > desaturate
- ctrl + b to bring up the color balance options and mess with them until you get something you like...
Now you should have something similar to this:
Step Eight
- Select the text tool.
- Click on the signature anywhere you want to put the text, and add your text.
- Go to blending options and play around with the drop shadow, gradient overlay, and inner shadow.
You should now have something like this:
Step Nine
- now it's time to press ctrl+e to merge all layers together.
- ctrl + click signature to select the border
- edit > stroke > 1px black and click ok
Now you should have this: THE FINAL PRODUCT
