Video Tutorials [versus] Written Tutorials.. Which are better in your opinion? And I mean video tuts with no writing and with no audio.. So, no extra help, you just watch and see what the person does..
A video tutorial has it's advantages, as does a written tutorial. As already mentioned, with a video tutorial you can see exactly what the person has done, and see exactly what settings they have used and so forth, and it's not always so easy to get confused as to what the person has done with certain steps..
A written tutorial also has advantages, people tend to go in-depth with explaining things and it's kind of like having audio, except with just steps.
I dunno if to make a video tutorial or an image/written tutorial for something.. Both have advantages, and both have disadvantages.. So, which do you prefer doing? Video without audio, or Image/Written tutorials?

Written. Mostly because you can go at your own pace. With videos, you always have to pause and try it out yourself and such.

Written.
Agreed with Moldy Cheese. Most are pretty easy to understand.

But, with videos you go at your own pace.... (Pause, rewind... etc)
Ok it appears as though most say Written, 'cos of the fact the video one has no audio (Posted it on PBS and a few other forums). So I have come up with a solution, I hope. Make a video tutorial without audio, and at certain steps using a text tool (whether in PSP, PS or C4D) and just write a little about why Im doing this, and stuff... Or how to do something, cos obviously people can't see if you press and hold ctrl and then left/right click, so that is a good example fo what to write at a step or w/e.. Would you all find that better than written?

I'm too lazy to actually pause and rewind. For written, you can just stop with your browser at a step. Easier that way.

A tutorial with both written and video would be best technically .. then it helps all people, whether you prefer it written, or are more visual.

If you did them in download packs and had the text file as well I think that it would be fine.

Oh yea, I also have to mention that videos take longer to download/play.

I agree with everything Moldy Cheese says. Plus sometimes you'll come up on a video tutorial where the guy who's narrating has the most annoying and or hard to understand voice ever and no text instructions. Then you'll find the one that has text instructions but annoying music playing the whole time.

Written, just as long as it's a tutorial and not a walkthrough.

Written, it's just more efficient and more user-friendly. It's easier for the dial-up users, you can add images to your tuts as you do each step or add a border/various pictures around the text to make it more visually appealing, and, as it's been stated many times, you may go at your own pace without pausing and rewinding (and I believe everyone knows about ctrl + left/right arrow, they just still prefer written ones...). Also, they samples people give after each step is a lot more clearer than watching someone videotape their computer, and their voice might not be clear as well.
