Another thing these days on PB forums, is people don't want to help you, they think they are above you. With the exception of a few. You have to be honest, most people will share their resources, yeah, but they do it only to get members on their website or forum. I do something similar, I hold my hands up to it. I share my stuff to get members on my forum, but I also share my stuff because I like it when people say that they like my work, and if it is a tutorial for example, I love it when they say it helped them or whatever.
Another thing is, ALOT of people who are on PB forums, don't know what is and isnt a great design (whether it's an LP or website, or even just a tag). A lot of people now days though seem to be getting more into coding on PB.

Another thing is, ALOT of people who are on PB forums, don't know what is and isnt a great design (whether it's an LP or website, or even just a tag). Yep. Reason I decided to start sharing my PSDs is I stopped caring. Before, I was secretive about my techniques but then I realized it's kinda pointless to keep stuff like that to yourself. It's not so much the technique as the ideas that you have.

I've never really cared if people knew my techniques and such. I wanted to be great like everyone else but if someone asked I would tell em how(I didn't get it a lot). Now, if people want to learn coding or something in coding I'm willing to help. Thats mainly the reason with my website is to help people start coding and get better Maybe it's finally switching though, people found coding hard so they went to designing. Now, people might find designing hard so they go to coding.

I admit I have put some resources on my forum only to get people to join. After realizing that it just didn't matter how much people on the internet respected me, I just shared it all around. If I knew my password to my forum then I would openly offer all of the resources I made in the past, be they tutorials or psd's.
I kind of wish I still had my old tutorials. I have one on photobucket but it got shrunk down in size so it's unreadable. =/

I would agree with this all the way. I remember when I joined my first design forum and things were much different then. The community there seamed to breed creativity. I remember how fulfilling it was to finish a graphic and have the community give support and advise. After that site died there wasn't much of anywhere to go. There was too many mildly successful design forums, no really big ones. I mean there was SSD and g101 but I just never liked the creativity and the additude of the community as much. Because of this I haven't learned that quickly at all when it comes to graphics. For the most part I just didn't have any reason to design much. I think that there needs to be a forum to meet that. Hopefully that forum can be wA with our help.

Blame the pb staff. They poked us into the ditches with the new opening of the Pb support graphics and coding boards. They didn't realised that with that hanging thread in which all our graphics board hang on to, it has been cut and we are falling down the pits.
Yeah. Many great designers have left. Great designers they all realise that their potential doesn't lie within a unflorished community that is going through the great depression. Great designers that used to be enthuastic about their work finding that life in University or social life is more challanging and fun compared to sitting your arse in front of the computer all day with photoshop open making a skin that deserve only a brief praise and nothing else with all the hard work.
Yeah, I agree wtih Anubus that there needs to be a forum to meet that expectation. But with PBsupport killing us all, and without us old dogs helping in the new breeds. Things will stay in this shitty state.

OMG.. I haven't ever seen anyone else bring that up about PBSupport. I thought I was the only one to believe that. I actually made a topic for it once on PBS, and all people said was stuff such as "well, if your forum is to be a sucessfull design forum, then you will provide decent content" and all that kind of crap. But yeah that is true, yet also so stupid. How can we compete with PBS when it is basically the first forum a new member sees when they make their forum ? How can we compete with a forum that gets tens of thousands of unique hits per day? We simply can't.

But it was the members that requested the coding and graphic boards... Do you really think it would help to have them shut them down. I think it was a bad idea to have them in the first place, it's Proboard SUPPORT afterall. Not Proboard Designs.
Pretty much all forums are dieing now a days. The novelty of a forum is waring off, there are too many other exciting things out there.

When the main 4 GFX sites were all active.. it was like heaven for PB design. Ever since they all died.. It seems like all the gfx sites died with it. >.<
