SOTW - Signature of the Week, a small contest held every week (sometimes, every month then it would be SOTM, 'M' being for 'month') where the members of the forum/site need to make a signature based upon a specific theme. Take note that it is run on some forum/sites differently.
GOTW - Graphics of the Week, basically the same as the SOTW, only you aren't limited to making a signature but also large pieces and etc. is permitted.
Freestyle - Most of the time used for a theme in SOTWs and GOTWs. It means that there is no specific theme, anything is possible but take note that forum rules still apply (if any).
LR - Learning Rights, a PSD that you receive from another person from which you can only view the layers in order to learn from.
FR - Full Rights, a PSD that you receive from another person that you can do what you want with it.
WR - Wearing Rights, a piece (most of the time signature) that you can only use to wear on forums in your signature area.
C/C - Sometimes C&C, one of the C's being critique and the other comment, so: critique & comment (also might mean Constructive Criticism, but only when abbrivated as C/C).
LQ & HQ - Low Quality & High Quality
GMV - Gets My Vote, used when voting in a battle, ie: John gmv.
Terragen - A landscape rendering program.
3D Studio Max - Similar to Cinema4D, program for creating 3D models.
