This is something I wrote for school that I was pretty happy with
A Poem I WroteIn the most treacherous cave, in the most dangerous land
I slayed the most beastly dragon, with a sword from my hand
Then I skinned a piece, from the beast's metallic throat
And on it decided to write, the best poem ever wrote
I wrote it in blood, from seven dead fairies
Then a priest blessed it, with the holy water he carries
It took me five years, but I wrote better than anyone could
And all who read it would say, "Man, this poem is good!"
Its words were like honey, melted right on your tongue
They'd roll onto the floor, and dance with the young
And they'd flow to your ears, just like a soft breeze
They'd make your head light, make you weak in the knees
Its metaphors were flawless, they explained a perfect theme
They were a lighthouse beacon, shining truth that need be seen
Its alliteration painted perfect pictures beyond compare
Painfully, people paraded just to hear the poem so rare
I read the words in all the lands, healing souls along the way
Those once filled with anger, found their hearts no more astray
The poem was just plain perfect, as I'm sure you must admit
So I wrote the poem right here, in hopes that you'd enjoy it
