Quite nice. I love the depth you have going on here. And the green color works well for the nightmare-ish feel you have going. For some suggestions, I'd suggest a 1 pixel black border all around, to enclose the content a bit better. And very nitpicky, but maybe some lighting? I prefer to do my lighting on a new layer with a soft brush in white and adjusting the opacity accordingly. Nice work.

Lighting? How do you do that? I've never seen that feature with GIMP. Time to go back to my tutorial(s).

Lighting? How do you do that? I've never seen that feature with GIMP. Time to go back to my tutorial(s). It's not really an option, per say. It's more of a technique. So first I'd make a new layer on top. And then take out a soft brush with white. And then brush some where I want the light to shine on and to bring out the focus point more. So on that layer with the lighting, it'll look bad because it'll just be white, so change the layer style to "Overlay" or "Soft Light." That'll give you a better focal point instead of having a viewer's eyes wander about the piece.

Yeah add some lighting it will look better. But the green color does work quite well. And the depth is nice also. Try adding some other "lighter" colors not too light though..
Good job. ;D
