I love how you tried something a bit unique here. It shows effort and overall will draw people to your forum.

Starting at the top and working my way down. Firstly, the banner - it doesn't stand out too much which is good. It fits nicely against the top of the forum. The text however has pixelly borders and I feel you should make it stand out a bit more. It also doesn't really remind me of harry potter, maybe try to add in another stock such as hogwarts castle?

The circular white borders are great, but I feel they are too bright as white. it is the only place where you use white on the forum. I suggest you change them to light cyan color, something like the rest of the forum.

I love how you put the menubar at the side. This does however cause the forum to be a lot smaller so you may want to take that into consideration. Also, having the affiliates at the side is a fine idea but I find the colors contrast too much. Others forums don't affiliate to you at the top of their forum, so why should you? I suggest you find a way to bring them lower. Perhaps add another menu/information box below your main menu box?

The actual forum style is fine but it match too well with the rest of the forum. You introduce a texture in your gradients which isn't found anywhere else on the forum. The whole smooth/tech/3d feel isn't on your banner or background and just doesn't to flow.

Overall it's certainly ok to look at but the forum doesn't all fit to one theme. None of the graphics remind me of harry potter either. It's not perfect but it won't deter members. Keep working at it and overtime it will shape into something much nicer.

I do see a lot of effort in this. Please don't take my review the wrong way.

Thanks, you have noticed things that I really didn't take notice too.  I will forward this to Slip, and we'll see what changes we can make to better improve the site.

No problem. It was about time for a thorough rate...used to do 'em all the time  

And don't feel you need to change everything. Just focus on one thing and get it right. I've found that small updates over time help a community and can lead to a nicer skin.
