Blog Entry #1: Troubles of a Young Musician
Man oh man is it hard trying to be a musician when your in a town with very few. Ive been trying to get a full band together for some time, but there really aren't many available musicians around, the ones that are already have bands. The ones I do find are somewhat lacking in the expertise department mostly. I'm sure I could get a spot with a good band if I could play some shows and get known a little bit, but without a band backing me thats not going to happen, and I can't get one unless I get known, you see the predicament?
As it stands I may know enough decent players to pull together a band, gonna have to see how that goes. Ill be sure to keep you updated on that.
On top of all the band related fun, my main guitar is still in the shop, having a damaged switch. Until recently I only had my acoustic and bass to play on, which make me better but aren't as fun, so I haven't been playing as much. I just got my backup Electric back from my uncle and I restrung it so Ive been playing a lot the past few days, which is why I haven't been on wA, sorry.
CD Recommendation: Angel Down - Sebastian Bach
Song Recommendation : Livin Lovin Maid - Led Zeppelin

Wow.... how many guitars do you own?
And you play classical guitar, or read music notes? Or do you just play chords and by ear.

I have 4, 2 electrics, one fretless set up for slide guitar and an acoustic. I can play classical and read notes, but its not my thing really. As for what I play, its not really chords, I mean some songs but most of the time I play riffs.

Blog Entry #2: Bands Bands Bands
Well after a lot of issues my band has finally fully formed, first full practice was today and another is planned for next Thursday. Were planning on recording a demo on Feb 3rd, so Ill have that up for you guys to hear. Not much to tell right now, I'm getting my one guitar back tomorrow so I'm excited about that.
I watched Thank you for Smoking recently, good movie, highly recommend it to any one who likes good movies. Also saw Sweeney Todd, which was good, though I didn't much care for the singing.
Thats all for now, a little short for my liking but Ill have more in a week, maybe less.
CD Recommendations: American Beauty by the Grateful Dead
Song Recommendations: Ziggy Stardust by David Bowie

I loved Thank You For Smoking. Awesome movie. But me and Chris and Kyle are planning to get together every once and awhile and just jam....which means all we have is two guitars and drums But still better than what I had before.
