Maybe have more interaction? Or have a section where members can post little word games, like "guess the animal" or something? they're stupid, but fun (sometimes), and really boost activity... so I've learned from my simming experince.
Just an idea that popped up.

Just an idea that popped up. Perhaps. But we really don't like forum games that much. Cheap way to increase activity and really doesn't take much thought. We had the suggestion of a forum games board but we decided against it. However, we will allow for some forum games that take some thought in the general discussion board. If you're not quite sure on whether a specific forum game is frowned upon, feel free to ask our General Discussion moderators, Blink and Alcadiaz (Brendan).

Although we are all bunch of loonies we still would like to have a professional looking forum. To help achieve this staff decided to not have a forum games board.
However something similar may eventually come in the future, I am unsure of the current status of this decision.
It is a good suggestion and it will be kept in mind.
edit: Moldy Cheese beat me to it.

you could disable the post count

While disabling post count would not let members gain posts from forum games, it would basically artificially boost the forum's posts.

oh man i never thought about that Moldy Cheese, i know a few boards who disable the post. Yea most boards who have forum games do that. But I mean, kinda cheap and unprofessional to get so many posts in a way that takes no thought. Get my drift?

Surely there's a way of making it so post from a certain board wouldn't contribute to the overall forum post count....? If you never tried, Kahless, or Aaron, there's a code for ya lol.

It's a pain in the ass though. Because then we have to go modify the Info Center and such. And because the staff as a whole don't like the idea of an entire board for forum games much.
