gotta be animated in some way.. i sent myself a test PM... then left for work.. basically enough time to make myself forget i sent it.... took me an hour before i noticed it said "new message" instead of "no new message".... even making it lighter won't make a difference.. just too small of an image to really be noticeable without it being animated.
