I just realizes the new blog link on ProBoards.com. There are some interesting articles on the development of v5. I looked at the new features list, and there isn't really many innovative ideas except for "Personal Messages: Conversations" and "Custom Profile Fields" a lot of the features on the list I have seen implemented already in vForums. But, v5 does look like it will be a successful version. It is something I am definitely looking forwards too. The templating system also looks pretty cool. I could follow that article pretty well. Your thoughts on it?

Actually, the features list looks a lot better this time around. Much better than V3 => V4.

The only thing I dislike concerning the blog is the crap it has added to the admin panel on forums.

The only thing I dislike concerning the blog is the crap it has added to the admin panel on forums. What they should do is they should have all of the categories up, then you can click them and get a drop-down of the sub-categories, and click the one you wish to see.

I believe it's still in the works. Won't be out for a while by the looks of it. Especially when most boards haven't even been upgraded to 4.5 yet.

The blog is out, it's just to share updates/features about version 5. Only a few servers have been upgraded to version 4.5 of ProBoards so far. It has LOTS of bugs at the moment, so im assuming they are trying to fix them all (or most) before they release v4.5 to most (all) forums. When they upgrade a server, you will have an option to upgrade in the admin panel. Personally, until all bugs are fixed, I would recommend not clicking the "upgrade" link/button when you have the option.
And I think they should simply put "Proboards.com Blog" as a "category" in the admin panel, below the other "categories", and then put a little arrow (>) next to it, which is clickable, and once clicked will reveal the other info (links) with the date of the entry etc. Or, stick it on the gradient, then click it, and it takes you a to a new page. That way, it could display the latest 20 entries instead of just the latest 5.
Actually, im going to suggest these, 'cos I really HATE the bit in the admin panel.

What are the advantages of 4.5?

You can organize members by top poster for the biggest forums in 4.5? The page navigation is a bit different. Otherwise, I can't remember any other changes off the top of my head.
