Ok I just ranted about this on my forum, so I figured I would copy + paste it to here to see what you guys think..
Well, it's that time again, basically.
I no longer like Christmas. I'm all for a good time though, but Christmas just isn't what it used to be for me, and it just isn't how ti used to be as a whole these days. No one I know or in this town I live in, really gets into the spirit. I think the reasoning for this is due to a few things, which one for me is I am older, so I'm not like "omg yay its Christmas, lets stay awake all night just to open pressies". Another for me is Christmas is advertised on Tv ads etc so early, and it seems to get earlier and earlier every year. This year, they started advertising Christmas in about late September, or early October. That for me is way too early.
I know why they do it, it's so people will go buy things (food, presents etc). But c'mon, early october means we still have things such as Halloween to get past, which is another crappy thing these days, which has lost its total meaning. Christmas used to be all about having a good time with your family, now it is simply about 2 things: Getting drunk out your face, and getting loads of presents (on top of the present issue though, are the obvious things, such as you are probably making your parents fork out loads of money for one item, then complaining that you have nothing except that one item to open. Also, another thing is the issue of "if you don't have the latest gadget(s), you're gonna be pissed on by those that are spoiled rotten, and that do have the new gadget(s)".)
Halloween used to be about getting dressed up, having a good time and most of all getting sweets. No days for chidlren, people simply don't give anything out, and this is due to a couple of reasons: The first being that a lot of kids these days will egg a house if they only get one or two little sweets. Another is the older kids spoiling it for those younger kids who are genuinly happy with one sweet from each house, and these older kids spoiler it by stealing pumpkins from gardens, and stealign anything else. (I know, I used to do it roflmao)..
Even easter isn't what it used to be.
I think though, the main reason that every holiday sucks these days are for three main reasons for me: I am older; everything is too expensive; and everything is just advertised all the time and months before that event/holiday.

Anyway, are you all like me and think no holiday is what it used to be? Is it because you are now older? Is it because everything is too commercial and this has ruined it? Share your thoughts if you want.
