When I first saw an image like this one I thought it must have taken hours and hours. It actually took 1 minute (I made that one ). Click click click done, any non-designer thinks your brushwork is amazing.

On the question, I can't think of anything that looks hard but is easy. Besides the excessive use of brushes, really.

That's why I always take the easy way out when I'm designing stuff for school. Oh god, me too. I seriously spend 5 minutes on it and people think its the best thing ever. I always did that with slideshows, and everybody else used the crappy little premade gradients.

Very true. That's why I use filter, grads, etc. I used to use brushes all the time...for EVERYTHING. Now it's hardly at all.

As of now, I just stick with the default brushes. With the brush options and a tablet, there's so many things you can do with the defaults.

@ Moldy Cheese: you should try doing some digital paintings, or at least apply them to your manips! And, looks hard but is easy? Hmm, I don't know, I can only think of stuff that look easy but is hard. XD

Things that look hard but are easy? Animations in graphics I mean, there're animations which look awesome and it seemed they were very hard to do but all it takes is some patience and layers.
