How do you go about making color schemes? Do you try and direct the scheme more towards the subject of your forum? Or, do you do what you personally like. For instance, if I had a forum about fire trucks, I would probably make it red. But, say I hated red and thought blue looks better on forums, I'd make it blue.

I haven't designed one in awhile, but I go with colors that fit, or at least one that does, but that are smooth and flow nicely. More neutral colors that don't make your eyes bleed

I would just go around the color pallet looking for good colors and combinations.

I usually end up something quite good, but it's never what I intended.

I usually make my templates in grayscale, and then color various aspects, messing around with stuff until I got something that I liked, although I am partial to lighter colors.

i only do tha ton skins though, and i don't make it exactly the same, just quite similar. =P

Color palette in Photoshop, or colors I see around me.

I normally pick the colors before i even get on the computer. When i design i think certain colors look better on certain things.
Like my fav. color for a template is different from my fav. color i like to use on a abstract piece.
Just depends.
